An Ask A Day: Ghana's daily question app that lets brands ask Ghana anything

An Ask A Day is a Ghanaian app where verified people answer daily questions and win real rewards. Brands get census-weighted market research, ads and brand-lift studies.

Every day, millions of Ghanaians have opinions about the brands, products and services around them. The trouble is that businesses rarely hear those opinions clearly, quickly and from people they can trust.

An Ask A Day (AAAD) was built to change that. It is a Ghana-based mobile app where people answer short daily questions, earn points, enter sweepstakes drawn live on YouTube and TikTok, and redeem real rewards in a shop. Behind that daily habit sits a research and advertising platform that helps brands, researchers, NGOs and public-sector teams understand Ghana and reach it.

Your opinion, worth something. For players, that's the promise. For businesses, it's simple: ask Ghana anything.

What is An Ask A Day?

An Ask A Day is a free Android app, available now on Google Play, with an iPhone version coming soon. Players answer one featured question a day, plus side questions and surveys, and see how everyone else answered. It takes a few seconds, and every answer earns points.

Those points are worth something:

  • QPs (Question Points) come from the daily featured question and are used to enter the monthly major sweepstake.
  • SPs (Sweepstake and Shop Points) come from side questions, surveys and brand questions. They never expire and can be used for popup sweepstakes, the reward shop and coupons.

Winners are drawn live on YouTube and TikTok, and players can follow the draw live inside the app. Fairness is visible, which is a big part of why people keep coming back.

Why businesses should care: verified people, not anonymous clicks

Most online research struggles with one problem: you can't always tell who is answering. An Ask A Day is built around trust.

  • Phone-verified players. Every account is tied to a verified phone number, and one phone can have only one verified account.
  • Rich, opted-in profiles. Each player shares their age band, sex, region, town, education, employment and relationship status.
  • A trust score for every player. Attention checks, rushed answers and duplicate accounts are monitored, so low-quality responses can be filtered out of your results.
  • Results weighted to Ghana's 2021 census. Responses can be weighted by region, sex and age band, so you can say "Ghana thinks X", not just "app users think X". Every weighted report also shows the effective sample size, so you know exactly how much the result is worth.

Our approach is public. You can read how it works on our methodology page.

What brands and researchers can do with An Ask A Day

Ask questions and run surveys

Put a sponsored question in front of verified players and get results quickly, broken down by age, sex, region, education and employment. For deeper research, build full surveys with:

  • targeting by sex, age range, education, employment, relationship status, nationality, country, region and trust tier
  • screening questions, quotas and attention checks
  • display logic, so people only see questions that apply to them
  • census-weighted reports you can share with your team or clients

Need to see how opinion changes over time? Trackers repeat the same question monthly so you can follow the trend.

Question ads appear right after a player answers a question, a natural and focused moment. They are clearly labelled "Sponsored" and come with real safeguards:

  • Players under 18, or without a birthday on file, never see adult-category ads such as betting or alcohol.
  • Ads are held back on days when a question touches a related topic, so advertising can't sway answers.
  • You get honest reporting: counted views, reach, clicks and results by gender, age band and region, compared with the whole app audience and with Ghana's census.

Be the brand behind the win

Sponsor a sweepstake and appear as the presenting sponsor on the live draw, with side and banner placements on the YouTube and TikTok streams and inside the app. In the app, sponsor spaces are tappable: players can visit your website or call you directly at the most exciting moment of the draw.

You also get measurement: verified in-app viewers, watch time, who watched, and site visits and calls for each sponsor space.

Measure whether your advertising changed minds

Brand-lift studies answer the question every marketer asks: did our advertising actually make a difference? They track four steps of the brand funnel:

  1. First to mind: which brand people think of first
  2. Heard of: which brands they recognise
  3. Seen an ad recently: which brands they remember advertising from
  4. Would choose: which brand they'd pick today

We've designed the method to be credible:

  • A 5-second countdown happens before any brand appears, so people commit to an answer before being influenced.
  • Brands appear in a different random order for every player.
  • Exposure is measured from real in-app behaviour, not self-reported.
  • A randomised holdout group never sees your ads, giving a fair comparison.
  • Every lift is reported in percentage points with a 95% confidence range, so you know when a difference is clear and when it could be chance.

Brand lift measures awareness, recall and preference. It doesn't claim to prove sales, and we'll always be upfront about that.

Reach players with offers, coupons and shop products

List a product in the reward shop so people can choose your brand with points they've earned. Run partner offers that send tracked traffic to your site, or sell coupons that bring people into your store. Every tap is recorded, with no personal data passed to you, so you can match visits and sales on your side.

Privacy and fairness come first

Brands and partners receive combined results only: counts, shares and breakdowns. We never share names, phone numbers, emails or individual answers. Players can hide their username, edit their details, or delete their account and data at any time.

Rewards are handled just as carefully. Draws are public, payouts are recorded with payment references, and each sweepstake allows one entry per player and one winner per reward.
